Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Step into our building, and you'll immediately feel the warmth of kindness and generosity. Together, we pack and deliver delicious, healthy meals to more than 650 clients across South Metro Denver.
We rely on compassionate individuals, service-minded businesses, and community groups to make our mission possible. From our dedicated kitchen staff to our committed drivers and administrative volunteers, every role contributes to the successful delivery of our mission.
Volunteering with Nourish is more than just delivering a meal. It's about nourishing spirits, and providing something to look forward to each day. Your dedication enables them to stay in the comfort of their own homes, granting them a sense of purpose and belonging.
Together, we make a difference in our community.

Opportunities for Individuals
Weekday Meal Delivery Driver
Our greatest need for volunteers, this team of caring volunteers delivers more than just meals to our clients each day. They use their own cars, fuel and personal time to deliver nutritious meals to our clients throughout South Metro Denver. Our drivers are often the only outside contact some of our clients have each day and they are able to alert us to the additional needs of our clients. Meals are prepared in our kitchen and routes are planned by our office team. The length of each route varies but we try to keep the total delivery time to within two hours after pickup. You can choose to deliver the same route each week, or fill in as a substitute when weekly drivers are away. Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, have a driver’s license, car insurance, and your own vehicle. Must be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively and pass a criminal background check. Routes can be done with youth, as long as the adult is the registered volunteer.
Weekday Meal Packaging
Our hot meals are prepared and packaged daily in our kitchen. Each day, a team of volunteers packages all of the meals by route so our drivers have everything they need before visiting our clients. These teams arrive at 8am and pack desserts first, then they head into the kitchen to prepare our customized special meals, followed by the day's regular meals. Each meal is served into a tray, sealed, labeled, and packed into an insulated bag before being handed off to one of our volunteer drivers. After meals are all sent out, this team cleans up this side of the kitchen, and finishes up around Noon. Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, have reliable transportation. Must be able to stand for 60-90 minutes at a time while serving on our line, lift 25 lbs occasionally, and pass a criminal background check. A food handler's certification is not required, but we do follow all County, State and Federal food handling requirements.
Daily Roll Out
As our drivers arrive to pick up the meals for their route, our kitchen packs meals specifically for them - first come, first served. Our Roll Out volunteers keep track of which routes' drivers have arrived, and ensures our kitchen team knows which routes to package first. After each meal is sealed, labeled, and packed into an insulated bag, the Roll Out volunteer takes the meals out to that route's driver. Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, and have reliable transportation. Must be able to stand for 60-90 minutes at a time while serving, lift and carry up to 25 lbs repetitively, and pass a criminal background check. A food handler's certification is not required, but we do follow all County, State and Federal food handling requirements.
Weekend Meal Packaging
We offer an option for two frozen meals to eat over the weekend, which are delivered with Friday’s meal. There are two volunteer groups who help ensure these frozen weekend meals are ready to deliver. On Wednesdays, one crew works with our kitchen staff to package fresh meals in our kitchen so they can be frozen. Then on Thursdays, another team packs each route's meals so they are ready to get delivered on Fridays.
Breakfast Packing
Participants in our breakfast program receive a bag filled with five days of breakfasts. A team of volunteers comes in on Tuesdays each week, to prepare these packages of ready-to-eat and easily prepared items so they can be delivered with hot meals on Wednesdays. Requirements: Must be 18+ years old, have reliable transportation. Must be able to lift 25 lbs occasionally, and pass a criminal background check. Administrative Volunteers

Ahead of each special holiday delivery throughout the year, all of the donated cards, tray favors, and gifts are sorted and packed by a team of volunteers who make sure each client receives treats and they're ready to be delivered with the holiday meal. Requirements: Must be 18+ years old and have reliable transportation. There may be occasional lifting and carrying tasks.
