All you need to do to feel Chef Geoff's love for cooking is walk into the kitchen at 5:30 a.m. and hear his booming laugh as he fires up the kitchen ovens and kettles. This Valentine's Day, he and our dedicated team of volunteers let their hearts shine as they prepared and delivered a culinary feast for 600 older adults.
To honor this special day, Chef chose cioppino - a flavorful, rustic seafood stew that, when originally created, was meant to be shared among friends and community. He added creamy mashed potatoes, roasted broccoli, and a rich chocolate cake for dessert. Chef’s Valentine’s menu represents the ingredients Nourish is built on: friendship, connection, and love.
Our clients also received hand-made cards, adorable tray favors, a rose from Cupid Crew Wish of a Lifetime, and a box of candy generously donated by See’s Candies. It is our goal to show our clients that they are a cherished part of the social fabric of South Metro Denver.
Although Valentine’s Day comes with extra treats, the quality and care is no different than any other day of the year. Every single meal that leaves our kitchen is created with the same love, from scratch, and served fresh.
Ruth, a four-year Nourish Meals on Wheels client, recently sent a sweet thank you. Like many of our clients, she struggles without a support system and is unable to shop for or prepare meals.
